Combining Love For Antiques and Real Estate!

John and Paul have been the proprietors of Cottage Treasures for the past 24 years, and of The Antique Warehouse in Hudson NY for the past 6 years. Now as the largest independently owned and operated antique store in the North East, we pride ourselves on being The Most Unique Place to Shop for Your Cottage or Castle. We also have an interest in restoring life to antique properties and unique living spaces. From a home built in the late 1700’s to a trolley that took people around Hudson, to a recently acquired Cottage from The Catskill Game Farm. If the basic bones are there we are up for the task. We just sold the most charming cottage in the Catskills, shown below. These are some of our new projects. They are unique, one of a kind properties which can be both residential and or used for home based businesses. All are for sale, but we normally sell them completed and furnished so the buyer just has to walk in with their personal belongings!

Completed Properties Ready For Their New Owners

In Chatham we have been working our way down the hill and around the corner saving one house at a time! These two were quite the project. The blue house was from the late 1700s, and the red house from the 1840s. This lot originally held four houses but two were gone before we purchased them. Now there are two houses, available as a double lot, or both on the entire lot. The uniqueness of these houses is that they are surrounded by woods in the back, yet a 3 minute walk into Chatham main street, and just across the street from the new Shaker Museum. We listed them as one lot selling both houses together, but they can be subdivided with their own driveways. Our thoughts are one could live in one house and use the other for work or as a guest house. Or live in one and rent the other to cover all your expenses. Many possibilities with these two charming country houses! Both are completed and ready to go.

Property Projects Underway

Thorncrest

We are working on another 1830s home up the hill and around the corner. This home was lived in by the same family for all these years, and was a working chicken farm. We are updating everything, and as usual leaving as much of the original as possible. It will be sold with roughly 20 acres, a guard house, 2 barns, and permission to build a huge barn on an existing slab. The views go on for miles and there is easy access to the Taconic parkway. 5 minutes from Chatham Main Street.

Charming mid-1800s Church

With original stained glass windows. Overlooking the Hudson river. Located in Schodack Landing 20 minutes from Albany and 25 minutes from Hudson, this church even includes it’s original belltower and bell! I love everything about this property. It will make for a fantastic home work space/art studio. This property is easy to access, and will have a very private garden.

A Fantastic 2500 sq ft Barn

A fantastic country barn, living on 5 acres in the Catskills, like the Catskills should be. This location is five minutes from the NYS thruway and ten minutes from Hudson’s main street and train station. Close to everything, yet the quietest place around. A smaller living space is being added to the end of the barn which will overlook the Hudson River.

It is a joy to work on these properties, restoring them to their glory. Most of the material and all of the furnishing is sourced from our business The Antiques Warehouse, Hudson NY.
